Hot Buttered Rum Recipe


Ingredients:


  • 2 oz Ten to One dark rum

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (softened)

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

  • 1 pinch ground cloves

  • Hot water

  • Cinnamon stick (for garnish)

  • Orange or lemon twist (for garnish)


Directions:


  1. Start by preheating a mug or glass by filling it with hot water and letting it sit for a minute. Then, discard the hot water.

  2. In the preheated mug, add the softened butter, brown sugar, and the spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

  3. Pour in the dark rum and stir everything together until the butter and sugar are well combined.

  4. Carefully fill the mug with hot water, leaving about half an inch of space at the top.

  5. Stir the mixture until the butter and sugar have fully melted into the hot water.
